The Mestre Álvaro bypass
The construction of the Mestre Álvaro Bypass was a landmark infrastructure project in Espírito Santo, with an investment of over R$ 500 million. The project benefits approximately 2 million people by reducing traffic in the region by up to 35%. With a length of 19.7 kilometers, the bypass shortens the distance between cities in Greater Vitória, utilizing 5,000 piles with depths of up to 50 meters and 160,000 cubic meters of concrete for pillars and precast elements.
The infrastructure features 7 intersections with overpasses, modern paving, and the capacity to accommodate about 15,000 vehicles daily. This development has boosted economic growth along BR-101, between kilometers 249 and 279, attracting approximately 10,000 new businesses. Additionally, it has shifted 30 to 40% of vehicular traffic, especially freight trucks, to the new highway.
